Business Manager

Areef is our business manager. As well as running the management aspects of the practice, he will be able to assist you with any administrative problems or queries.

Engagement Manager

John works alongside the Business Manager and is a point of contact for staff and patient queries and concerns. He also administers the practice complaints procedure. John provides leadership and guidance for all staff in partnership with the Business Manager and has specific supervision role of the Reception team.

Dr. Anisa Ahmed is a highly experienced Principal GP Partner at Strouts Place Medical Centre, where she has been delivering exceptional patient care since 2016. With specialised expertise in Women's Health, Maternity Care, and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Medicine, Dr. Ahmed brings a unique international perspective to her practice. Medical Education & International Experience: Dr. Ahmed completed her medical degree at the prestigious Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. This international medical education provided her with: - Understanding of European healthcare systems - Extensive clinical experience across diverse patient demographics - Multilingual communication skills for patient care. Professional Journey & GP Training Following her European medical training, Dr. Ahmed returned to the UK to complete her postgraduate medical training throughout Essex. As a qualified GP Trainer, she is passionate about medical education. Dr Talat Ahmed is an experienced General Practitioner (GP) in East London at Strouts Place Medical Centre, serving patients in Tower Hamlets, Shoreditch, Hoxton, and surrounding areas. He is a GP partner and holds a GP with Extended Role (GPwER) in Addiction Medicine (substance misuse). He has a strong clinical focus on dermatology, dermoscopy, and skin lesion assessment in primary care, alongside interests in minor surgery, hair restoration, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments, and digital health. Dr Ahmed studied at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, following a premedical year in the Czech Republic. During his training, he completed the USMLEs and gained clinical experience in the USA, including time at Brown University. He completed GP training in West Essex and has worked in urgent care and out-of-hours GP services. He previously led the Special Allocation Scheme for City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets. Dr Ahmed is the founder of Berolliscopie, a platform supporting dermoscopy education and primary care skin lesion triage, and is Lead College Representative for Adult Health at the RCGP. He is actively involved in medical education and has a strong interest in digital innovation and the safe use of AI in general practice.

DR JARIN AHMED

Dr Jarin Ahmed is the Principal GP Partner at Strouts Place Medical Centre, leading on service development, clinical governance, and digital transformation. She combines her clinical expertise with a strong interest in innovation to improve patient access, experience, and quality of care. She is currently completing an Executive MSc in Medical Leadership, building advanced skills in strategy, innovation, and healthcare transformation to support ongoing service improvement across the practice and wider network. Previously, Dr Ahmed served as the Primary Care Network (PCN) Clinical Lead for Mental Health Transformation, where she helped improve access to psychological support and integrate mental health care more effectively within primary care. She has also led the development of new local services, including a PCN-based Microsuction Clinic, improving access to ENT services. After qualifying in Medicine from Norwich Medical School (University of East Anglia), Dr Ahmed completed her foundation and GP specialist training across NHS Trusts in the East of England. She brings wide-ranging NHS experience from both hospital and community settings. Dr Ahmed has particular interest in Mental Health, Women’s Health, and ENT Medicine, and has led several initiatives within the practice and Primary Care Network to enhance digital access, workflow efficiency, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She is passionate about driving improvement that benefits both patients and clinicians, creating a more efficient, compassionate, and sustainable model of care.

Margaret leads our nursing team. She is highly qualified, and can deal with a wide range of conditions and health concerns. She undertakes the majority of our chronic disease reviews, including asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. She works closely with our GPs. She also has expertise in providing Travel vaccinations and advice, childhood and adult immunisations, family planning advice, cervical screening, and wound care.

AYSHA SATTAR

Aysha is a PCN practise based pharmacist. She graduated with a First Class MPharm degree from London School of Pharmacy, UCL. She has experience working in GP surgeries and community pharmacies. She undertakes medication reviews with a patient-centred approach as well as help manage long term conditions, medication monitoring and deal with medication queries.

NURSIA NAZRUL

Nursia graduated with a First Class MPharm degree from King’s College London and has experience working across GP surgeries and community pharmacies. She provides patient-centred care including medication reviews, vaccinations, and health checks, and is fluent in English, Bangla, Italian and Urdu.

Firoza has been with the practice since 2003. She will be happy to help you with any administrative problems or queries.

Patient Care Advisors

Patient Care Advisors provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Social Prescribers

Social Prescribers are based in GP practices across Tower Hamlets to help patients get support with their wider health and wellbeing. Our role is to refer patients to services in the community to support and empower them to improve their health. We have close links with services in the community to help patients with issues effecting their health such as - mental health services, housing advice, benefits support, employment and training, weight management, carers support, bereavement support and many more. We ensure that patients are supported by the services we refer them to by following up with the patients and the services in the community.

RAHANA BEGUM

Rahana joined the Social Prescribing Service Team in May 2019 and ever since she has been supporting patients with their health and wellbeing needs. Working alongside Clinicians’, such as GPs, Nurses, HCA, Health Visitors and other non-clinical staff at the GP practices in Tower Hamlets. She refers and signposts patients to different services in terms of their non-medical issues. Most importantly since the pandemic, they have had to deal with a high number of benefit support and emergency food parcel delivery for the extremely high risk, vulnerable patients. She ensures that patients are supported by the services they refer them to by following up with the patients and the services in the community. She has strong relationships with patients and with the community volunteer services in Tower Hamlets and beyond. Their service and approach are very limitless and that is why she loves her job!
